ELON MUSK CALLED ME TWO DAYS AGO. I’M ASSUMING IT WAS HIM. HE HAS AN AMAZING IDEA.
They’re going to Mars, and now that’s no small thing. Apparently they are thinking outside of the box by gathering ideas from millions of common people; things that their brilliant scientists might overlook. And believe you me, ever since I hung up the phone I’ve been conceiving.
I came up with the idea of a new multi-functional grabber arm to fit on the Elonrover. Now the grabber arm idea might not be original but it’s uses could be. For example, it could grab a bottle out of the rover’s side cupboard and then pick up stuff on the ground and then put it in the bottle and maybe even shake it up and down a bit. The shaking up and down would probably be original.
The mic could pick up the sound of the bottle rattling and that would cause Mars noise. However they would need to have some way of getting the stopper back on or all of the stuff would probably fall out when the bottle went up and down. I suppose you could get away with not using a stopper if you only shook it side to side, and just a little bit. But if you wanted to shake it really, really hard you would definitely need a stopper.
When I say stuff, I’m assuming the material would probably be just rocks and dust because right now there’s not much litter on Mars except for some crashed space probes. The idea that Martians are living there hasn’t been proven yet and if they were there, I’d doubt that they would be litter bugs because there’s nothing manufactured on Mars yet that can be littered.
Now I don’t even know if this bottle idea would be a scientific experience or not. I’m not technically savvy regarding Mars exploration work so the big wigs would have to decide if doing something like that would be important enough to aid in advancing mankind’s quest to conquer new worlds. (probably not)
Better still; maybe the rover arm could just pick up a rock and fling it like a baseball and perhaps even put a spin on it or even a curve. But for that to happen the wrist part would have to be able to turn in a fast twirl or maybe they could design some kind of snapping motion. Of course a toss like that would naturally be a record for the longest distance a rock was thrown by a machine on a planet not called Earth. That would be cool or maybe even keen!
A few years back some guy in a white suit hit a golf ball on the moon but this would be different, just because it’s a…
